Home to over 1.9 million people, Broward County is located between Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties, forming the center of South Florida’s largest metropolitan area in which 6.1 million people reside. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is in the heart of Greater Fort Lauderdale’s Gold Coast. FLL is a fast-growing, Large Hub U.S. airport. In 2022, FLL carried 31.7M passengers and was 84% of 2019 passenger levels. In 2021, according to Airports Council International, FLL ranked 15th in total passenger traffic, 13th in domestic traffic, and 9th in international passenger traffic. Passenger traffic is projected to exceed 50M by 2035. North Perry Airport (HWO), is a general aviation facility devoted exclusively to private and business light-plane activity. Concessionaires offer fuel, service, air charter, flight instruction, aircraft sales, maintenance, storage, and other services for the flying public. In FY2022, there were 263,209 aircraft operations at the airport.
The Broward County Aviation Department is a self-supporting agency of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners that does not rely on local tax dollars for operations and capital improvements. The Aviation Chief Financial Officer is an executive level position and oversees the financial and business aspects of FLL and HWO. This position will play a critical team role in developing and implementing short and long- term strategies to maximize revenue, ensure fiscal sustainability, and enhance the customer experience in accordance with FLL strategic business plan. Specifically, this position will lead/direct strategic and business initiatives related to growing all airport revenue areas and define/implement initiatives for profitable and sustainable business performance and revenue growth.
Requires a BA/BS (master’s preferred) from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business administration, finance, accounting, or closely related field; and 6 years of executive level supervisory experience leading large complex airport projects in areas of assignment which may include: business, financial/lease management, or budget activities, for a medium or large hub airport. A CPA License or other equivalent license desired.
